Plans have changed yet again. I had every intention of setting up my patio escape this past weekend and doing a bit of shooting in front of the crepe myrtles; turns out that would have been an absolute nightmare, seeing as our girl Bertha is making landfall tonight and will continue into the weekend. It's not going to be a severe storm by the time it reaches me, but it's still going to rain nonetheless. And I do not want to clean up soggy furniture in 100-degree weather once the storm passes. So I will stick to my original plan and shall attempt this again at the beginning of August.

In other news, this past week I was quite the social butterfly. I am very much a get up at 10/11, go to work for a couple of hours, and be home by 6 kind of girl. But last week I went out two nights in a row; that really is quite the record for me lol. I've done such a great job, if I do say so myself, of curating a space in my home that I rarely want to be anywhere else.

Anyway, the first spot I ventured to Wednesday night, I've visited a couple of times already, and the second place I went Thursday evening is a new "hole in the wall" type of establishment, which happens to be my favorite type of place to visit because the jazz in these spaces is always the best. The only thing I dislike about "hole in the walls" is that they rarely serve food but will sling liquor at you all night long. Like girl, I can not survive off shots and cocktails; I need something to eat!!!

I will say though, I did have a little something to eat before the show because it started at 8, but it wasn't enough for the Lemon Drops I downed for 3 hours straight. I'm talking; they did not have any finger foods or anything of the sort. We were surviving off oxygen, liquor, and vibes all night. By the time I got home around 1, I was so crabby, OMG!

Just pissed off and hangry as hell. Anyway, this is what I wore:

I am currently collaborating with La Femme En Noir, which is such a dream come true. I have been buying from them since 2021 and am truly the ultimate fan. They sent me 3 pieces: the 'Ambrosia' dress in the Decayed Beauty print, which I posted a reel for last week, the Haunted Beauty Victorin dress in crimson, and, as seen above, the 'Salem' top in black.

I paired the top with a 1940s skirt, my Secrets in Lace RHTs, the hand-tooled ivory 'Veronica' heels from Re-Mix Vintage, my newest late 30s early 40s mink hat, and my oldie but a goodie 1940s corde handbag I won on eBay bids a few months ago. This outfit is so chic and incredibly casual while giving off a well-put-together feel. I will more than likely make this a part of my outfit go-tos, which is a group of outfits I have stored in my fashion brain for when I have last-minute plans and don't feel like conjuring up a look.

I will say though, it definitely could have been styled better. I love to colormash and felt this outfit was so boring color-wise, seeing as it's just black and white. So next time I will for sure add a pair of green or red heels and, more than likely, my 40s lizard-print wristlet handbag. I can also see it being styled wonderfully with my yellow swing coat, so I am looking forward to wearing this same outfit again in the near future.

This weekend I am going to be working on shooting the Haunted Beauty Victorian dress, which will wrap up this collab, and start to brainstorm for my next work, as I already have two other collabs lined up. So a busy bee, I will be! But I am beyond grateful for the work and am so happy that this is a part of my life.
