This post was originally supposed to air last week, but of course I got caught up with the day-to-day events of life. To start, I am so grateful for all the support I've been receiving these past few months. I've been sharing my vintage life for a bout 3 years now and started taking it seriously roughly a year ago. It all feels so surreal that this is slowly but surely, becoming my life and ultimately will be a big part of my career.
Life truly is so bizarre seeing as I always saw myself doing something totally different, but this has really been the only thing that has worked for me consistently without me forcing it to work. I am learning that it's easier to accept what life throws at you rather than trying to make something work when it just isn't.
Now that I've got the sentiments out of the way, I have a little update on my back patio and my "learning how to home make" series. I made major progress on July 3rd and had everything ready for show by July 4, but of course, because the weather is so unpredictable these days, everything has been put into the shed until further notice lol. I did get a good two days of use out of the setup and hope to have everything back up for the remainder of the summer by August.

I wanted to install a few curtains along the back perimeter, but as I mentioned above, the rain was coming, and I felt that would have been a huge waste of my time, seeing as they would've been soaked. Unfortunately, but also fortunately, because I did get everything set up in enough time I really didn't get many photos and was purely living in the moment. But I'll be sure to have more intention next time and get some good shots of future my table spreads.

Seeing as I am really trying to maximize my usage of this outdoor space, for the autumnal season I plan on getting a new fire pit, or something along those lines that isn't too much of a hindrance to the setup. I currently already have one, but it's been sitting outside for years and is in deplorable condition lol, so I'm just going to replace it with something else. There is also the option of tiki torches. I had a set for the longest time, but I have zero clue as to where they are today, so that's something I can consider in exchange for a fire pit.
I'm just really weary of flames; I can handle lighting a candle, of course, that's trivial. I just don't think a fire pit is right for me. I've always had this irrational fear of a fire getting out of control, and I would rather not be bothered by any of it at all. It sounds dramatic, I know, but I've had some close calls with my stove and oven that have set me straight when it comes to me and a flame.

Speaking of fall and winter, I am hoping to have my first YouTube video for my "Confessions from a Vintage Shopaholic" series done by early September. I sort of want to film an end-of-summer video, but I am a little apprehensive. I just love fall and winter, especially when it pertains to vintage fashion. The possibilities are endless, and adding unnecessary accessories is a part of the status quo for the season. In other words, it's 10x more fun to style a vintage outfit for colder weather than it is for warmer weather.
I love the halter and strapless glamour, but I'm not a shorts person, and I'm not really a beach or bathing suit lover, so the aesthetics of summer are so-so to me. Although I do love sun bathing in 90+ degree weather and any kind of tropical smelling body oil I don't love it more than wearing nylons and a mink coat lol. The dramatics of autumnal vintage fashion heavily out weigh those of spring and summer and we're also not stuffy and uncomfortable due to the heat, so it truly is a win-win situation!
With all this talk of fall, here is a look at some shots I took of the Ambrosia dress by La Femme En Noir, in the Decayed Beauty print - a glamorous testament to the spooky autumnal season.

The full photo set will be posted later this week, I think lol. I'm not entirely sure when it comes to when something is going to be posted. Most of the time I decide the night before so I really don't know.

To wrap this post up, I hope the very small number of you enjoyed it lol. I know I say my socials are a passion project but this website is my true passion project. I am trying to hold myself accountable towards building a community on this blog, but that takes consistent, efficient effort on my part which I must say is exactly where I've been falling short. So we should all cheers to the milestone of tackling another post!
Until Next Time,
Stay Glamorous!
